KABAM!

The Kingman Area Books Are Magical! Festival was a fun and family friendly outdoor event on May 2nd, in Kingman, Arizona. Kingman is an interesting town in that it has grown beyond the small town feel, but doesn’t have the feel of a big city. Most of the comforts of society are found there, without the massive press of people found in New York City or Los Angeles.

Most of the vendors at KABAM! were authors or publishers. The people were friendly and easy to talk to. More than one person came to the festival to purchase books, and it was common to see someone carrying three or four books they had just purchased. The event organizers made us feel welcome and appreciated, which makes a big difference to me in offsetting the long drive required to get there. If you’re looking for a fun small-town book festival, KABAM! is definitely one to add to your list.
