Notes to self about Book Marketing 101
Today I attended the East Valley Writers’ Workshop Meetup, with T.M. Williams as the guest speaker. She had some wonderful ideas on book marketing, and, for the first time, I’m starting to understand how it all comes together. One of the things she said is that writers are too much of a creative breed to say that any one plan will work for the majority of writers. Everything has to be personalized. So that’s what I’m going to do. I’m going to personalize my marketing to what I can understand, control, and keep on top of.
T.M. emphasized that if you can only do two things, it should be a quality website, and an auto responder. I put an auto-responder on my site long ago, but it hasn’t helped me, because I didn’t know what it was for. Now I do, and so I will dive back into that and get an Auto-Responder up and running as soon as I can wrap my mind around it and embrace it. T.M. recommended AWeber or GetResponse. We discussed Mail Chimp briefly, as well. Do you have another suggestion?
